- Responsibilities and key tasks include, but are not limited to:
Solution design
- Gathers, analyzes and documents business requirements to support the design and development of technology and/or process solutions. Facilitates the creation of user stories and backlog management in an agile delivery environment. Transform business requirements into product solutions. Clearly defines an intended functional solution and communicates it through functional design specifications. Ensures compliance of technical projects with functional requirements. Uses LEAN techniques to design business processes and improve operations through process redesign
- Supports the design of solutions using user-centered design techniques, iterative solution design and prototyping. Effectively evaluate opportunities for improvement (productivity/efficiency gains, savings, etc.)
- Uses agile delivery methods and participates in scrum teams in implementing solution delivery projects.
- Considers the general technological experience of the user in the thoughtful design of interesting solutions.
System configuration and testing
- Performs application configuration to support solutions delivery initiatives.
- Supports data conversion.
- Performs extraction, loading and validation of transformed data using SQL queries / prepared reports.
- Supports solution testing by defining test environments, developing test plans, performing test execution and validating test results.
Production support
- Provides 2/7 global support for critical systems while on call.
- Uses subject matter knowledge to analyze and resolve moderately complex system/user issues to resolve workarounds and perform root cause analysis.
- Coordinate problem resolution with suppliers and/or cross-functional teams. Provides timely and thorough problem status/resolution communication with end users and team.
- Create system and end-user documentation to support new system implementation, enhancement implementation, and case management.
- Trains and implements information transfer to team members as needed.
- Uses reporting/query tools to write simple to moderately complex ad-hoc queries and generate operational/analytical reports
