Summary of work
Domain oriented architect responsible for defining solutions according to company strategies and standards. Act as a critical interface between business stakeholders and technology teams to translate business intent into actionable technology solutions that enable desired business outcomes. You will be responsible for effective communication, both verbal and written, with business and technology stakeholders at various levels and adapting content to the target audience with minimal supervision. Supports the Southwest Technology architecture team.
This position works in a data-driven, process-oriented and measured way that reduces enterprise risk and accelerates efficiency, leads and trains architects to address holistic business value, evangelizes and creates alignment between vertical and horizontal delivery organizations, implements structured guidelines. leveraging standards, patterns, reference implementations and models and helping us move towards automated architectural models by letting people buy our architecture instead of talking about it.
Obligations
- Collaborate with technology teams to create an architecture that meets SWA technology standards
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to develop a technical strategy/roadmap for a line of business products or product lines that enable long-term business results.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the business, define business goals and non-functional requirements and deliver a complete architecture that meets business needs.
- Contribute to the growth of SWA's technology teams through hiring, training and mentoring
- Promotes architectural technology standards and promotes SWA technology standards
- Research current and emerging technologies and identify technologies that can accelerate the delivery of business value
- Actively seek opportunities to develop SWA's technical expertise
- Design, build, modify or operate distributed large and efficient IT projects - on-premises or in the cloud
- May perform other duties as directed by HR Managers
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Knowledge of a modern programming language such as Python, JavaScript, Go, .Net, Java, etc.
- Working knowledge of technologies such as distributed large-scale web, mobile applications, API, cloud, transaction flows, DevOps, serverless, big data and analytics
- Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders to achieve desired architectural outcomes
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches
- Ability to understand and apply knowledge to advance the organization's strategic plan
- Ability to bring others together and reconcile differences
- Ability to understand the impact of new information on current and future problem solving and decision making
- Proficiency in architectural design tools such as Draw.io, Visio
- Knowledge of software paradigms (eg object-oriented, functional)
- Knowledge of software versioning and best practices such as Git.
