Spry Fox is looking for a Senior Server/Backend Engineer to join our team to help us create an original, non-violent MMO! You'll be working with a small group of exceptionally talented and thoughtful people building our game server and backend, bringing players together and making sure things run smoothly.

BONDS
- You can control the architecture of both backend services and game servers to create a scalable, non-violent and enjoyable MMO.
- You will work closely with artists, designers and other engineers to implement new game features at the server and backend service levels.
- You coordinate the deployment (and scaling) of web services and game servers on dozens of machines and hundreds of processes, which ensures maximum stability and a smooth gaming experience.
- You are responsible for the security of the studio's publicly available services and game servers.
- You will be responsible for designing and maintaining systems that store data for thousands of requests per second on hundreds of servers.
STANDARD
- You know Python, containers and container instrumentation.
- You are proficient in C and able to implement and improve game servers such as networking and data storage.
- You have worked on one or more MMO projects and have a deep understanding of the technology as a whole.
- You can interact with everyone on the team, including artists, developers, and designers, to talk about the many trade-offs that go into creating an MMO.
NICE TO HAVE
- Our game client uses Unreal Engine, some experience would be helpful
