This position contributes to the success of Starbucks by using a variety of tools to investigate alerts and signs of compromise, review logs, and assess the health of Starbucks Security platforms. You should have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, a deep technical understanding of modern cyber security threats and a proven track record of a hands-on approach to developing defenses in highly targeted environments. Success in this role will contribute to a world-class cyber security program that can address, mitigate and promote a successful resolution to any cyber security situation.

Model and act according to Starbucks' guiding principles.
Summary of key responsibilities
- Detect, assess and respond to disturbances and events.
- Create custom observations targeting the MITER ATTandCK framework. Scans and checks available logs to identify weaknesses in detection capabilities.
- Reviews threat intelligence reports and sources, makes recommendations for profile or tool changes based on insights.
- Searches for new threats and performs data analysis of invisible surface activity in the environment.
- Conducts in-depth research on Windows, Linux and MacOS hosts
- Facilitate threat remediation by collaborating with other IT teams or end users.
- Write stories for engineers to improve our SOAR environment
- Acts as a mentor and escalation point for SOC analysts.
Undergraduate degrees
- 5 years of experience in the field of information technology.
- years of security experience.
- Deep technical understanding of modern cyber security threats.
- Ability to quickly learn new cybersecurity concepts.
- Understanding of MITER ATTandCK framework and ability to generate insights based on analysis of attacker tools and techniques using systems using this framework.
- You are proficient in programming in at least one modern language such as Python, Powershell, C#, Ruby, Java, Rust, Go
- Experience with the following technologies: SIEM, WAF, IDS/IPS, EPP, EDR, FIM, DLP, Cloud Security, Container Security
- Basic understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements such as SOX and PCI. Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem solving skills. Passionate about cyber security and motivated to become an expert.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more of the following technologies: SIEM, WAF, IDS/IPS, EPP, EDR, FIM, DLP, Cloud Security, Container Security
- Expertise in two or more of the following pillars: Phishing, DLP, Compliance, Network, Forensics, Big Data, Threat Intel, Operating Systems, Reverse Engineering
- Contributes to the cybersecurity community through instruction or code.
