The Loan Product Owner is a senior manager responsible for developing and directing loan systems product plans and prioritizing the product portfolio. This position translates the organization's overall strategy, particularly in the lending arena, into actionable goals and action plans, enabling the delivery of meaningful lending products and services across all delivery channels. This includes the design, delivery, maintenance and development of partner loan products and services. The loan product owner focuses on maximizing the value of loan products and services. The role is to bridge the gap between the credit union's lending strategy and product and service delivery. Additionally, this role is responsible for supporting an active workflow and agile approach to management and continuous improvement.

This role leads dedicated agile teams focused on our loan products and leads dedicated agile teams focused on our loan products and leads the development and delivery of our line of loan products.
Basic duties
- Collaborates with management to understand business strategy and makes decisions on priorities, timelines and implementation goals for the entire development team.
- Development and management of action plans for loan products and services.
- Create and collect a backlog of questions from various teams, primarily lending focus areas, to identify and prioritize user stories for team execution based on strategic priorities, compliance, performance and BAU needs.
- Ensure timely notification of all new product deliverables, development of communication plans and role of contact person for delivery of new product features.
- Work with IT to develop and track new products, services and ad hoc requests. Provide leadership through influencing and direct daily interaction with the IT team.
- Acts as a liaison between multiple supported business teams and the technology team.
- Communicate the current and future business goals and overall direction of PFCU to the agile team. Work with the Agile team to categorize and prioritize strategic business objectives for technology scope and implementation.
- Coordinate regularly with partner stakeholders to identify corporate and member needs and potential areas for product quality improvement in the lending space.
- Track the performance of boilers, improve operational strategies, identify business opportunities, allocate budgets and resources, report to management, set goals to increase the company's revenue and profit.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.)
- 5-10 years of experience
- Certified Scrum Product Owner
- Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of various operational, improvement and compliance frameworks such as ITIL, Six Sigma, Lean and PMI
- Previous experience as a Product Owner and/or Scrum Master and working knowledge of agile concepts such as SCRUM, Kanban, TDD, etc.
- Proven ability to manage software development projects and ensure goals, objectives and responsibilities
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in agile development models such as Agile Modeling, Scrum and Extreme Programming
- Strong understanding of implementing software projects in a highly regulated environment using Agile / Scrum and waterfall methodologies. Previous product ownership or product management experience
- Business analysis and project management skills
