- The Network Architect is part of the Enterprise Network Services organization and works on a team of engineers and architects focused on hardware, software, system-level research and next-generation network architecture.
what will you do
- Create, design and document visions, standards, policies, models, architectures and roadmaps for network technologies (routing/switching for DataCenter/branch offices, firewall network security, core network architecture, cloud network/security models)
- Create detailed network designs for complex network systems that meet customer requirements (including physical and logical) to meet business objectives
- Directs, directs, monitors and approves the work assignments of architects and engineers while removing obstacles to productivity
- Provides technical leadership to infrastructure and application/system development teams to advance infrastructure technology
- Leverages knowledge of multiple technologies and platforms, provides technical design recommendations. Review design and development work, mentor team members as needed
- Improves the ability to combine knowledge of the business environment with the architecture of technology solutions. Evaluate the potential implementation of new technology with the goal of improving existing systems and technologies and meeting business needs
- Research, collect and share information about new technologies and key learnings for the IT organization
- Participates in initial definition of hardware and software architecture and evaluation of prototypes. Maintains technology currency and communicates with the external environment to identify opportunities to use technology to benefit the business
