The Information Technology Department is seeking highly motivated leaders to help lead and grow GEICO's information management capabilities. The Data Governance Services team, Data Governance - Technology, works with multiple data sources within the GEICO data ecosystem to power our data discovery and data programs. This role is for a hands-on Engineering Manager who leads a team of engineers in the design, development and support of Data Discovery and Data Lineage use cases and features. In this role, you will lead one or two engineering teams and collaborate with the platform engineering team, TPMs, architects and stakeholders to iteratively build robust data warehouses using modern information technologies.
The data governance team not only creates mechanisms to meet data discovery requirements, but also works to create a culture that encourages everyone to identify data at risk and support privacy strategies. You will be an integral part of developing and deploying GEICO's next-generation cloud data management tools that are developer-centric, using data as code that can be leveraged as GEICO transforms in the digital space.
The qualified candidate will focus on all aspects of the design, analysis and implementation of a new information retrieval platform. The candidate will work in a team of software cloud and IT engineers and analysts to build an effective cloud-based solution that seamlessly integrates with our various cloud ecosystems. The ideal candidate will learn about the development work and also define the strategy for the introduction of all our new data search services. Finally, you will collaborate and work closely with the Enterprise Data Management and Cyber Security team to ensure that the platform supports and adapts to the needs of our management initiatives.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and meet requirements retrieval data, SLAs and SLOs
- Strong development experience and managing and leading full stack developers
Required Qualification:
- 2 years of experience in management positions in the IT sector or experience in managing and organizing technical projects
- years of management experience leading, training and developing IT groups and partners or similar positions
- System-level troubleshooting across multiple applications is highly desirable
- Strong data processing/integration, data transformation, data management, data quality and data pipeline services and technologies
- Ability to prioritize and drive results based on organizational goodwill
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with both senior management, highly technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience in developing and implementing development programs that promote the sustainability of relevant technical knowledge
