This role engages and advises others with data protection authorities and policy makers, as well as responding to inquiries from global, federal and state regulatory agencies, and collaborates with other groups such as the Public Policy and Product Law Group to frame issues. important to Netflix and our subscribers. This role also oversees investigations, case management and proactively adjusts compliance practices. The candidate must be interested in and able to develop a deep functional understanding of Netflix's business direction, data resources and data flows across the enterprise, as well as our use of big data analytics. Significant experience in online and mobile data protection, advertising, cloud services and analytics, data strategy and management, and COPPA issues/child data protection is also essential. In addition, the candidate has experience building strong partnerships and training complex regulatory systems in the areas of legal, compliance, technical infrastructure, product management, sales and marketing and internal audit.

- The position reports to the General Counsel in Los Gatos, CA and works continuously and collaborates with relevant legal, security and political teams.
- The position is being considered in either Los Gatos, California or Amsterdam, Netherlands. Desired skills and experience
- At least fifteen years of experience in solving complex legal and policy issues related to privacy, data protection and security at a cutting-edge level, international context/experience is important and own experience is a strong advantage. Experience in the technology industry, advertising and/or gaming, as well as in-house legal work and CIPP certification is a plus.
The position also requires at least the following personal skills and experience:
- Strong substantive knowledge of US privacy and security laws and international privacy laws, including emerging trends, and working knowledge of international privacy and data laws.
- He has a good technical understanding of internet and network technologies
- Smooth communication with key data protection authorities and relevant decision makers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including extensive prior experience negotiating and drafting privacy/security policies and notices
- Ability to navigate ambiguous situations, work well under pressure in a meticulous, organized manner with minimal supervision and provide practical, real-world advice to clients.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to manage a diverse and complex workload while maintaining priorities and proactively anticipating problems, especially in a fast-paced business environment.
- Team leadership experience and strong collaboration skills
