The Network Transaction Data Team is responsible for managing and processing all credit card and non-credit card transaction data. Our team's mission is to provide a platform and tools to receive, retrieve, process and distribute authentication, billing, pricing, billing and payment information. This team aims to promote marketing agility and improve customer satisfaction. The platform involves consuming data from various events through a pipeline and stores the data in a data lake. Data is processed for authorization, billing and delivery. In addition, data is shared with partners and other internal teams through reports and APIs. Team also creates many references for data processing and distribution that are used in the organization.

Minimum requirements
- 3 years of experience in software design and implementation using Java or Scala.
- Data processing experience with Spark. Knowledge of designing, implementing and using any NoSQL databases like Cassandra, Elasticsearch. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in distributed computing and analytics with Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Spark.
- Experience with distributed communication systems such as Kafka
- Experience building microservices and Service Mesh is a plus
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift is considered a plus.
Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and DevOps systems. Experience designing large distributed information systems with scalability, reliability, security, performance and flexibility in mind. A clear understanding of the various design, chaining and memory models supported by the language/VM. Able to supervise and provide technical guidance to other engineers. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Create and deliver effective presentations to executives.
Obligations
- As an Information Engineer, you will be responsible for building the core functions and features of card transaction systems on a hybrid cloud-based distributed platform. The Data Engineer at American Express is a single assistant reporting to the Chief Technology Officer.
- You will be responsible for designing and building distributed computing and analytics systems.
- Build and code features, work with developers on day-to-day operations and assist with code and other SDLC tasks.
- Create flexible, high-performance code and adhere to industry standards.
- Create POCs to validate new concepts and technologies. You are constantly learning industry leading/innovative technologies and solutions.
- Be aware of potential technologies and open source products to build distributed systems with low latency. Drive a culture of innovation and experimentation, participate in a fun and results-oriented culture, and always be willing to try new concepts without fear of failure.
- Collaborate with similar technologies and development teams in different locations.
