Google is not just a software company. The Hardware Operations team is responsible for overseeing the state-of-the-art physical infrastructure behind Google's powerful search technology. As an Operations Engineer, you install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware (such as servers and their components) and server software (such as Google's Linux cluster). You can also configure more complex components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches and network protocols. You will participate in or lead small project teams in larger facilities and develop project contingency plans. As a Data Center Technician, you will deploy and maintain Google's data center server and network infrastructure by installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware and server software. You can manage the configuration of networks, routers, bridges and switches. You will lead local project teams on installation and develop project contingency plans. You manage the physical deployment of data center-related technology and collaborate with various stakeholders. You ensure the implementation of goals, tasks and projects.
