The Payment Management and Contract Tracking Coordinator will have a strong focus on organization and a high level of attention to detail, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. In this role you will:
- Proactively review, evaluate and implement financial commitments from domestic and international ATL grant agreements and trade notes. This includes fees for rights options/purchases, script acquisition, closing requirements, development materials, early writers' rooms, prep/production/post for comedy series and multi-camera series, one-hour drama series, and limited and event series. (ATL talent includes: actors, writers, producers, non-writing producers, consultants, directors, line producers and actors)
- Prepare payment authorizations and payment schedules for ATL donations to facilitate timely and accurate payments through the Netflix studio, prep/pack team and/or individual show account teams. Includes (but not limited to) milestone payments, weekly earnings, bonuses, royalties, etc. We provide guidance on PHandW rates for applicable guilds (if any). In addition, our tax team was consulted to report possible problems with loan units, payroll units, workplaces, production sites, etc.
- Track ATL contract deadlines from development to return, including upcoming seasons, talent and rights option deadlines, and holding periods. We will prepare and publish relevant notices, including notices of extensions, exercise of options and reporting notices. We create and share option summaries to track deadlines for the upcoming season, writers' room commitments, SAG payments, WGA Article 67 payments, and the order in which series deadlines are tracked. Prepare DGA and DGC Management Memoranda of Agreement for implementation and ensure accurate and timely payment to manager (including extra days, reshoots etc.).
- Create and maintain WGA tracking tables and liaise with script coordinators, our internal creative and legal teams for periodic script reports and milestone delivery notifications to ensure timely payments.
- Create and manage development and series summaries for our assigned projects, manage data trackers for cross-functional teams, and organize/file and store all payment requests and backups in a cloud-based document management system.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external productions to deliver important documents to ensure our team is present and payments are on time
- Act as internal/external point of contact for payment and deadline issues
- Prepare cost analysis scenarios for different groups on a regular basis
- Ensure ATL payroll initiation paperwork is received, complete and accurate
- Maintain flexibility and openness. If necessary, carry out additional projects outside your department
- Ability to react positively to change and be receptive to new ideas, accept and protect cultural diversity and be solution oriented.
From you:
- You have 3-5 years of experience in legal and/or business matters in a television studio, production company or law firm, or experience in production payroll, production finance or contract and payment management.
- You know union labor contracts (DGA, WGA, SAG-AFTRA, Local 399)
- You will have the ability to read, understand and summarize legal contracts, with an emphasis on deadlines, and formulate problems in a creative, production and financial context.
- You use Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar and Mail)
- Additional knowledge of entertainment recruiting practices outside the US is a bonus but not required. Netflix produces shows from all over the world including but not limited to Vancouver, Toronto, Prague, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Germany, United Kingdom etc.
