As a Starbucks Technology Application Developer, you will help Starbucks succeed by providing high-quality, reliable and stable technology and security features to support the Starbucks Engineering Platform. This role is responsible for installation, configuration, monitoring, analysis, maintenance and technical support of Store Development applications. You will continue to grow and learn across multiple industries and technologies with enthusiastic and supportive stakeholders working towards our common goal.
The position requires technical knowledge, domain expertise, understanding of the platform and a desire to develop into a technical professional. We are looking for a Software Engineer with a background in API and UI design and development, REST principles, cloud-based design patterns, and experience working with and supporting custom, packaged, and SaaS systems.
Summary of key responsibilities
- Responsibilities and key tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Support and enhance current custom and packaged ERP applications that support the store development organization. Design and develop services with RESTful APIs
- Design and development of middleware integrations between applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in the solution design evaluation process.
- Create and maintain telemetry and dashboards. Automate deployment with a CI/CD pipeline
- Actively participate and help gather business requirements, document requirements, define, test and implement.
- Participate in solution development and collaborate with other teams to understand dependencies and integration requirements.
- Collaborate with QA team on testing activities by validating and creating detailed test plan, test cases and test results.
- Use coding standards, flexible delivery methods in project implementation and delivery.
- Provide support to resolve system/user experience issues in collaboration with Product Owners and Program Managers.
Undergraduate degrees
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Excellent problem solving and written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive outlook and strong passion for learning with excellent analytical skills.
- Knowledge or significant experience in agile methodology and release management.
- 2 years of software development experience
- Knowledge of building middleware, RESTful APIs and services using public cloud (Azure/AWS).
- Knowledge of integration models (workflow tools, event-based integrations, set files and APIs)
- Familiarity with UI/web development using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, React
- Using and supporting Continuous Delivery and DevOps pipelines and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of end-to-end software development using JavaScript, React for front end and either Node, Express or java springboot for backend.
- 1 year of experience with Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Application Services and Event Hub
- Knowledge or experience working in ERP with IBM Triri. Knowledge or experience working with third party vendors
